This event aimed to serve as a mock simulation of the global IEEExtreme contest. It was conducted for 3 hours with 6 questions to solve. It was hosted on Codedrills and hence scored by the traditional Codedrills scoring which is similar to ICPC. It aimed to give participants a feel for the duration, format and difficulty level of IEEExtreme. Problems were curated and tested keeping in mind the level of the original contest. Daniele Pucci, a pioneer, and a researcher in robotics, on the topic of Aerial Humanoid Robotics as a part of IEEE Day Celebrations. It was jointly conducted by RAS and IEEE Young Professionals Bangalore Section Affinity Group.
GPU Programming using CUDA

This was a hands-on workshop conducted by Dr Rupesh Nasre from IIT Madras. After the initial introduction, Dr Nasre took over and proceeded with the workshop which involved a mix of theory and practical coding. The workshop progressed in an ascending manner, with concepts getting increasingly complicated. This was followed by some exercises and a small section on the application of GPUs. After CUDA, graph algorithms were introduced to the participants and how GPU programming can be helped to solve those problems. YouTube Link
Dysarthric Speech Processing: Challenges and Opportunities

Hacktoberfest Meetup 2021

Hacktoberfest NITK aimed to generate awareness of Hacktoberfest by Digital Ocean, a global month-long event that promotes Open Source culture. The NITK Meet-up consisted of a talk from Dr. Mohit P Tahiliani about Open Source fundamentals, and how to start contributing as an inexperienced or a veteran developer. A few students gave the audience a peek into Git/Github and how version control works, also providing them with the resources to get started. The event was conducted under SIGHT to spread awareness of Covid-19 among the students. It will involve a 24-hour hackathon which was extended by 6 hours, preceded by a workshop to provide the necessary information to the participants. The problem statement was implemented in PyBullet and Drake using MeshCat as a simulator.
Knowledge Sharing Session on Static Timing Analysis

A Knowledge Sharing Session was conducted on Static Timing Analysis open to everyone to gain better insight into this topic through an informative interaction. The main session’s speaker was Hitesh S, an MTech student in Microelectronics and VLSI, pursuing at Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore. The session covered the basics of STA which includes Metastability in VLSI circuits, concepts of Setup and Hold time, Clock Skew, etc. A separate pre-session was held at 6 PM on 5 July 2021 for gaining preliminary knowledge of the topic. This session was conducted by Rahul Hanchate, a final year ECE student at NITK.

Conducted in collaboration with Web Enthusiast's Club NITK, this was a 24 hour programming contest based on various disciplines of Computer Science like Data Structures and Algorithms, Systems, Machine Learning and Development. Themed around the Avengers, the 4 tracks were held on 3 different platforms: Algorithms on CodeDrills, Machine Learning on Kaggle, Systems and Development on HackerEarth, with equal weightage given to all tracks. Resume Building Session

An interactive session on how to build an outstanding resume, conducted for the first and second year student members who will soon be pursuing internship opportunities. The session covered what should and shouldn't be put on a resume, along with a walkthrough of some templates to get started. Summer Mentorship Program

This is a 4-week long summer mentorship project conducted by the sophomores of our club to help mentor the student members of Mangalore Sub-Section in their fields of interest. A total of 20 projects are being offered.
